What we verify, what payment changes, and what it never changes.
Minimum verification
- Publicly identifiable lawyer or law firm
- Relevant U.S. bar jurisdiction and public status link
- Current contact details and relevant practice focus
- Date the profile was last checked
Default ordering
Unpaid verified profiles are ordered alphabetically. We do not publish unsupported “best,” “top,” or outcome-based rankings.
Paid profiles
Enhanced profiles may contain additional lawyer-supplied information. Sponsored profiles appear in a separate advertising section and carry a conspicuous label. Payment does not waive verification requirements.
What verification does not mean
Verification is not a recommendation, guarantee, referral, or assessment of how a lawyer will handle a particular matter. Readers should independently evaluate counsel.
Corrections and claims
Lawyers may request factual corrections or claim their profiles. We may ask for documentation before changing verification fields.
